Right on the money Carlton, that's the good thing about social media now, is that you can basically market free or less cost compared to before where you would have to pay 100's or 1,000's to even get a video created etc or reach more people with paid advertising now, it's all viral and you can get your message out to as many people as you like.

The thing about this is that it creates a LOT more competition in the marketplace because it's available to anyone which is good, but not as good because it makes it more saturated and easier to flood with content, so you will see alot more competing for popularity etc, but other than that, your definitely right about your stance on this, great post.

Excellent post Carlton. I completely agree here on your thoughts. Great example for a reputable company using Twitter. Huggies, that sells diapers, is on Twitter. This is huge for this company. Instead of sending coupons, discounts and staying in touch with their customers using the traditional media like mass mail outs, which can cost thousands if not millions, they can tap into Twitter, which is completely free. They can now send discounts, coupon offers and stay in touch with their customers free of charge, which is great in this economy we are in. As an added bonus, they can get more personal with there customers, where mailings are just the opposite. More businesses will be tapping into free social media now and in the coming years.
