MY CUSTOM 1992 CHEVY LUMINA PROJECT
I’m going to be creating a total step-by-step storyboard on my main website to show how I created my 1992 custom Lumina project car, but here are a few pics to whet the appetite. The project was shot with DuPont paint & clear. The interior was done by a good friend of mine who has an upholstery shop in his back yard. The body and paint work was done by James Boyce in my former body shop. I shot the graphics. James did the wet sanding, buffing, and polishing. The engine work was done in my former auto repair shop. It is an ongoing project which has been placed on pause. When I start my new shop, I will continue work on it. Stay tuned!

Hi
Very impressed of your project and can you tell me how much it costed you
Thank you for your comment! It’s hard to estimate my cost, because I owned a body shop at the time and had a full-time employee helping me out. I would estimate the paint, chemicals, and supplies to be around $750, but the main expense was labor. It took about 2 weeks to complete this. Doing the body work and rust repair consumed about a week, before we even got to get it in prime. The base coat, design, clear coat, and wet-sanding/buffing/polishing took another work week. All I know is that if I were to do this for someone else, I’d probably have to charge $10,000 to $15,000 for something this extensive.
